To Strengthen the HP Belux Management Team, we are looking for a passionate HR Country Lead.

WHY DOES THIS ROLE MATTER?

In this role you will work together with the business leaders to co-create an environment where people can grow and thrive professionally as well as personally. Furthermore, you will be the key partner and focal point for all HR-related subjects in Belgium (140 employees + contractors) and Luxembourg (19 employees). You will report to the Northern Region HR Director.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE BRING YOU?

In this role you will get in contact with and contribute to all parts of the organization.

  • First there is the basic operational part of HR. This is handled by the HR Global Services Hub, Payroll, Total Rewards and Recruitment. By being the ‘glue’ between these different actors you will ensure a smoothly working & legally compliant HR Operations eco-system. In case of problems in one of these areas you will be the point of escalation.

  • You will also be able to build a strong relationship with the Employee Representation Bodies in Belgium and Luxembourg. Together with the Managing Director you will take responsibility for a constructive and collaborative functioning Works Council and Syndical Delegation. You will also take care of all legally required reporting and ensure compliance to all HR related legal obligations. For the Prevention and Protection of the Workplace (CPBW) related obligations you will work together with the internal prevention advisor.

  • You will support the managers in their daily people management role, in which they are supported by corporate programs and processes related to Hiring & Onboarding, Performance Management, Talent Management and Learning & Development. You will be the point of escalation for employees in case of dispute with their manager. Furthermore you will also guide the organisation in case of employment terminations.

  • Last but not least you will work with the managers, employee representatives, and/or other employee groups or stakeholders to define and roll out or support programs, activities, initiatives to strengthen the sense of belonging and employee experience of working @HP Belux in a sustainable way and in line with our mission and values. You will also install transparent, clear and inclusive communication in line with our mission & values.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE ROLE?

To be successful in this role you would need the following professional skills and experience:

  • A Human Resources related degree or equivalent achieved through experience, with at least 6-8 years of relevant experience with a multi-national environment in the HR-field of work

  • A working knowledge of local labour laws and government regulations

  • A good understanding of employee/labour relations and knowledge about topics like diversity, equity & inclusion, recruitment, compensation & benefits, and training & development.

  • IT literacy and good project and program management skills

  • Good presentation skills and ability to communicate at every level whether internally or externally

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English. French is an advantage.

  • Has a strong can-do attitude

  • Loves building relationships based on trust and reliability

  • Is open, transparent and collaborative

  • Likes to coach and counsel managers and can resolve conflicts in a constructive way

  • Is result driven, persistent, and flexible and can quickly adapt to changing situations

  • Knows how to prioritize, is well organized and has an eye for detail
