Main Responsibilities

As Technology Expert you will be responsible for:

  • Register new ICT activities in GovIS2 and update existing JRC records when needed.
  • Undertake the tasks specified in the ICT Programme Office process for each new ICT activity.
  • Review the content of the Project Initiation Request, Business case, project charter and Architecture Overview documents and suggest modifications and clarifications, when applicable.
  • Review the coherence of the ICT activities’ budget and FTEs indicated in the submitted documents.
  • Review the alignment of the proposed technical solutions with the JRC ICT architecture and the central service catalogue.
  • Draft and review the web request forms.
  • Interact with EC governance bodies (IT investment Team, ITCB and DG COMM).
  • Provide guidance to the IPO and the JRC units representatives on the technical and management aspects of the ICT projects.
  • Keep a close collaboration with the JRC webmaster, JRC LISO, JRC DPC, JRC IRM and IT unit teams.
  • Elaborate and present statistical reports on the JRC ICT activities to the JRC Governance bodies (Executive Committee, Steering board (Directoire)).
  • Carry out tasks assigned by the team leader and/or the Head of Unit.

Successful Candidate

ICT Governance officer with expertise in Project management, business processes, communication and Information technology (up to level 5).

Qualifications:

We are looking for a motivated and service-oriented person able to work in close collaboration with various ICT services inside and outside the JRC.

You must have excellent diplomatic, organisational and analytical skills, combined with an enthusiastic and proactive approach for resolving issues and finding solutions in a complex environment.

You must have at least 3 years of experience with information technologies and at least 2 years with project management in an international environment. Experience with PM2, Europa Web Guide and advanced emerging ICT technologies and ICT safety and security is considered as an asset.

You must have excellent communication skills in English and French (C1), and have good interpersonal skills to interact with staff at all levels. You to be very dedicated to the job. We value a positive attitude to strategic thinking.
