We now have an exciting opportunity in Early Solutions (our Research organization) at our site in Braine L’Alleud, Belgium, for a bench scientist with expertise in receptor pharmacology to strengthen our in vitro pharmacology department. This is an exciting role for a talented and experienced scientist to work within the Neuroscience therapeutic area and engage in breakthrough research in a vibrant drug discovery environment – inspired by patients, driven by science.To strengthen our Neuroscience In vitro Pharmacology team, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of In vitro Pharmacologist,based in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.Our in vitro Pharmacology department is involved in Research activities ranging from new target identification and validation to setting-up new screening assays to support our Neuroscience pipeline, to study the mechanism of action of our pre-clinical and clinical assets. We are therapeutic modalities agnostic and support small molecules, peptides, antibodies and gene therapy projects. Our environment is inclusive and highly multicultural.We are offering a permanent position for an experienced lab-based Scientist in the field of receptor, enzyme, transporter pharmacology (biochemical and cell based). You will contribute by helping in defining a study strategy, designing and carrying out experiments, analysing, interpreting and reporting your data. To reach these objectives you will have access to state-of-the-art lab equipment and will be able to collaborate seamlessly across departments.For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
  • MSc or PhD in Pharmacy/biochemistry/cell biology with expertise in receptor, enzyme, transporter pharmacology
  • Prior industrial experience will be advantageous
  • In depth practical knowledge of receptor pharmacology assays (binding and functional assays)
  • Familiar with radioactive, fluorescence, luminescence, FRET, BRET and label free assays
  • Experienced in quantitative data analysis using Prism software or equivalent and applying drug-receptor interaction modelling
The candidate must be highly motivated and possess the ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment that requires a high level of communication, organization, and collaboration, as well as demonstrate enthusiasm and willingness to learn and propose novel techniques and methodologies.Fluency in English is mandatory.We can offer you an informal and open working environment that does not lock scientists into structure and hierarchy.
