Internship: AI demonstrators based on medical datasets

Barco designs technology that makes everyday life a little better. Seeing beyond the image, we develop sight, sound, and sharing solutions to help you work together, share insights, and wow audiences. Our focus is on three core markets: Enterprise (from meeting and control rooms to corporate spaces), Healthcare (from the radiology department to the operating room), and Entertainment (from movie theaters to live events and attractions). We are consistently looking at innovating our medical displays by providing new services and functionalities. There is a lot of potential for new features by using public data sets and training them on an adequate model to perform a variety of tasks. Recently, many more medical data sets have become public and open source, and can be used freely to create adequate models. In the first phase of the internship an overview of these datasets and what they contain will be made. A focus will be put on medical imagining datasets, both imaging and video. Afterwards, these datasets will be cross-referenced with common problems in medical imagining where AI models can prove to provide a simple solution. Finally, some adequate models will be chosen and trained on the relevant problem so that a few simple demonstrators can be made.
