KEMIN ANIMAL NUTRITION AND HEALTH – EMENA is searching for the KEMIN GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM a IoT Back-end Developer

The internship Iot - Automation engineering is part of the 2 year Kemin Graduate Development Program where the trainee will work on KAS (Kemin Application solutions) innovation projects linked to digitalization and new complementary digital serviceswhich can be commercialized. As part of the Kemin Industries Digital Solutions Discovery Group and in close collaboration with the KAE KAS Team, you will mainly be responsible for the back-end development of KEMINCONNECT™, a cloud-based IoT Service & Application Solution platform.

Responsibilities:
What you’ll be doing:

A successful IoT project requires cross-functional knowledge and expertise in both IT and OT domain. You will stay in close contact with the KAS team and all developers to analyze, shape and develop the whole back-end infrastructure of the platform, ranging from (but not limited to) connectivity, microservices and API infrastructure to databases and data lakes.

Together with the whole team you will be playing an important role in the entire application development cycle, from analysis to development and roll-out.

During the 2 year program you will work on a variety of responsibilities such as:
  • Working in a cross-functional Agile team to deliver data driven (Industrial) IoT solutions from specification through implementation and deployment (CI/CD)
Contributing to the d evelopment of the product architecture with attention to security, stability, usability, efficiency, and performance
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, testing, and upgrading the software
  • Documenting code, (non-)functional application requirements, business processes, workflows, systems architecture, etc.
  • Theoretical investigation and optimization of calibration data
  • Assist international on-site equipment installations, commissioning and give training to the local operators
  • Develop innovative software solutions to maximize the applicator efficiency
  • Foster a positive team environment and assist coworkers as required
Qualifications:
What we expect of you
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering Automation, Computer Science or comparable relevant
  • Strong analytical skills (critical thinking, data analysis, research, communication, problem solving, …)
  • Highly motivated, with an outgoing personality, well organized and can work independent and in a team
  • Eager to learn
  • Willing to join a fast-growing team within Kemin and are committed to contribute to its success
  • Willing to work in an international company (travel)
  • Programming skills in back-end development (Java, Spring, …)
  • Knowledge of creating webservices and API’s (JSON, HTTP/REST, MQTT, WebSocket, …)
  • Experience with developing databases (PostgreSQL, Azure Data Lake)
  • Familiar with Step7, WinCC, TIA-Portal, VBA, VBS, C, SQL-Server, OPC-Server/Client, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, IO-link
  • Basic understanding of streaming frameworks and AI/ML Frameworks is a plus
  • Familiar with data analytics software and Agile practices (Azure DevOps)
  • Communicate fluently in English
