Elia is the operator of the Belgian high-voltage transmission grid (380 kV to 30 kV) and is responsible for developing and maintaining the grid, providing users with access to it and controlling energy flows. The Elia group is a team of 2,000 professionals who have the task of ensuring the continuity of electricity supplies in Belgium.

As owner and operator of electricity transmission networks in Belgium and Germany Elia has an important role and mission in supporting and implementing Europe’s energy and climate policy.

In this function you will lead, implement and support IT projects & applications within Elia and 50Hertz related to the "Asset Management" business department

The project portfolio is consisting of opportunist and practical projects in one hand and ambitious, innovative and challenging projects on the other hand. Their scope is not limited to one specific core business of a TSO but potentially addresses all of them. The main domain of activity is related to the Asset Management business department.

The Different Activities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Managing IT projects, including launching and monitoring projects, achieving implementation plans, following-up scope, budget and schedule, managing resources, issues and risks, producing project-related documentation.
• Setting priorities, in collaboration with the business, within your project portfolio.
• Challenging & validating business requirements provided by the business.
• Writing functional & technical design based on Microsoft technologies (.NET) in case of home-made development.
• Managing & leading an implementation team provided by the internal .NET development software factory (.NET developers & architects).
• In collaboration with the Purchasing department, executing the necessary project phases required when purchasing software: carrying out market studies, identifying existing solutions, managing calls for tenders (RFIs/RFPs), determining acceptance criteria, evaluating bids, analyzing the integration architecture and integrating the software into the existing application landscape.
• Following up on the implementation of purchased market products in collaboration with the external implementation team provided by the supplier.
• Validating the test strategy and the quality approach as well as their follow-up during the execution phase.
• Organizing and coordinating the deployment of IT solutions in acceptance and production environments in collaboration with the IT infrastructure teams.
• Providing end-user support (second line) as well as the organizing and prioritizing the maintenance of the developed solutions.
• You have a Bachelor’s degree in applied information technology, a Master’s degree or equivalent by experience, preferably with a specialization in the field of electricity.
• You have several years’ relevant experience as a project manager tasked with selecting IT products through calls for tender (RFIs/RFPs) and monitoring the implementation and integration of these products.
• You have relevant experience as a manager of IT projects based on Microsoft architecture (e.g., .NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server). You can easily communicate with technical architects and developers.
• You have a good knowledge of Prince 2 and Agile methodologies.
• You have proven experience in writing functional design to provide specifications to a development team.
• You have an analytical mind and good organizational skills.
• You can communicate with stakeholders at the technical level as well as at the conceptual level but also at the steering level with excellent presentation skills.
• Your customer orientation fits perfectly with your enthusiastic personality and you work autonomously and easily with international and remote teams.
• You could spend a few days per month abroad to work on projects in collaboration with companies of the Group and international partners.
• You keep abreast of the latest IT developments.
• Experience in the electricity and/or energy sector, or more generally in the field of Asset Management would be an asset.
• You are fluent in French/Dutch and English. Knowledge of German would be an asset.
