Currently we’re looking for a JUNIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER SUSTAINING & NPD at our site in Herentals.

Responsibilities

Responsible for implementation of development projects with purpose to:

· sustain existing products;

· develop new products;

Jobcontent

• Maintains and organizes electronic file system for production drawings and manuals;
• Management of supplier-changes (e.g. labels, packaging);
• Responsible for projects regarding adaptations and/or upgrades of component part design (e.g. inlets), gives input to his/her Manager about progress and provisional results, and makes proposals/recommendations to adjust the planning if necessary.
• Designs details of parts, components and assemblies, using 3D models and 2D prints;
• Testing of parts and components;
• Supports his/her Manager with:
• the maintaining of of all necessary documents (SKUs, BOM’s, drawings, …) related to the product, engineering drafting and release standards
• providing support to regulatory specialists in getting products approvals;
• the determination of the technical specifications to safeguard the product quality acceptance criteria;
• bringing new ideas for examination and co-operates to further development of our technical know how;
• the follow up of local issues related to products;
• layouts of new product design concepts.

Reporting structure

• Reports to Engineering Manager NPD with whom priorities are set;
• Cooperates with the involved departments during start up of new product applications;
• Cooperates with other product development resources (local, inter-company and external engineering organizations) to promote the development of research projects to reach the necessary synergies.

Profile

• Degree of Mechanical Engineer;
• Min. 2 years working experience in a technical (similar) function;
• Fluent with 3D-CAD, preferably SolidWorks and Inventor;
• Knowledge of SAP is preferable;
• Knowledge of IOT and electronics is a major asset;
• Fluent in English and Dutch;
• Fluent with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint;
• Willing to travel up to 10% of his working time
• Willingness to learn, hands-on attitude, discipline, good communication-skills, team spirit are absolutely necessary.
