In order to ensure the realization of its engineering projects in the Energy sector, the Group is seeking, for a Lead Buyer

Mission
In the purchasing process, for your portfolio, you will be responsible for:
  • In collaboration with the pre-projects, to request and negotiate prices and evaluate the remaining negotiation margin, in order to validate and secure the prices of materials, components and services for which you will be in charge ;
  • During the project implementation period:
  • Negotiate and purchase in the required quality and timeframe, at the best total cost for simple and complex materials, parts and services, by establishing a comparison table of offers allowing the purchase decision;
  • The delivery of the material or services ordered, with the help of the reminders;
  • On an ongoing basis:
  • To search for new suppliers (often in "Low cost" countries), including evaluating and qualifying them in collaboration with users and the Quality department;
  • To follow and anticipate market developments;
  • Establish purchasing strategies for the most critical segments of your portfolio;
  • Provide the Sourcing and Estimating Department with unit prices or the means to calculate budget prices for the materials, components or services for which you will be responsible;
  • Negotiate and conclude framework contracts, partnerships, for certain products or services, as part of John Cockerill’s purchasing strategy/policy.

Profil
  • You have a lengthy higher education with a technical or commercial orientation (with an affinity for technical products) or you have equivalent experience;
  • You have conclusive experience in "international purchasing" in the field of industrial projects and an interest in our activities.
  • You have an acute ability to negotiate;
  • You are of irreproachable honesty and ethics;
  • You are a person of internal and external communication; you have an excellent team spirit and are willing to work closely with project managers;
  • You are clear, precise, firm and pugnacious;
  • You are fluent in English and are able to conduct negotiations with suppliers
  • You are fluent in MS Office, you have a good knowledge of systems such as SAP (drawing up purchase orders, validating the approval and invoicing phases);
