AGC’s Technovation Centre is recruiting a lead mechanical design engineer for its automotive projects

You at AGC’s Technovation Centre – Automotive Transformation Department – your mission

• You will be based at the Technovation Centre close to Brussels (Belgium) where research & development, engineering and IP activities are centralized under one roof with 280 members of personnel
• More specifically you will join our Automotive Transformation Department - a team of approximately 40 people passionate about developing glass product applications (windshield, rear window, sunroof, etc.) and solutions related to autonomous driving and advanced assistance systems to the driver. The team is organized around 3 departments, from project management to prototyping to product validation
• Your mission will include the management of a team of 6 people working on miscellaneous projects inside the Added Value Operations field.

Your scientific profile

• A love of science runs in your blood with very good academic results in electro-mechanical and design engineering
• You understand that a manager’s job is more than sitting behind a screen. You have a strong affinity with industrial and operational processes and enjoy being on the field with your team.
• You have acquired a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience - automotive industry (Tiers 1 /2/3 or OEM) background is a must with

- excellent understanding of housing manufacturing technologies (e.g. stamping, injection moulding,…) including forming requirements, tooling limitations, cost drivers, …

- good designing (2D & 3D CAD) skills and strong materials (glass, plastic) knowledge

- experience with WS integration, multiple sensor integration, prototyping solutions, Radar, LiDAR and/or Camera design and manufacturing environments, supplier negotiations, cost calculations, technical presentations

• Glass knowledge is a plus
