What will you do?

The main purpose of this position within ADESA Europe is to guarantee compliancy with national and European regulations (including VAT) and to optimize and control the corresponding companies’ policies, processes and procedures. You will also be our in house legal contact responsible for reviewing and advising on (supplier) contracts, terms and conditions, customer claims, .... By doing all this you will have a real impact on the business and will report directly to the CFO.

Your tasks:

• Check the compliance between the documentation specific to intra-community traffic and VAT-regulation;
• Mediate when there is a disagreement with countries or in case of trade disputes;
• Draft reports and action plans to mitigate risks;
• Train the business on your domain of expertise to raise VAT awareness;
• Act as key contact and expert in working with the tax authorities, the internal auditor and our external legal advisors;
• Continuously improve current internal processes;
• Responsible for first-line legal advice (VAT, Claims, ...).

Who are you?

• You have a Master degree in Law (specialization in taxation or international trade law is a plus);
• You have at least 2 years’ experience;
• You are experienced in drafting clear advice, reports and action plans;
• You are an enthusiastic person with good communication skills;
• You know how to prioritize and work in a structured and organized matter;
• You are fluent in English and Dutch (written and spoken);
• You are familiar with EU VAT regulation (preferably intra-community traffic) or you are highly interested to specialize in this area;
• You take ownership in working towards results;
• You understand how a business works and like having a real impact;
