Solae Belgium NV Ieper is a high-tech food company located in the canal zone in Ieper, Belgium, and produces protein isolates from soya. The isolate is used in soy milk, sports drinks, shakes, baby food, snack bars, meat substitutes, etc.

We are part of the IFF Family (www.iff.com), headquartered in New York.

Currently, we are looking for a Manufacturing Technology Leader (m/f) to strengthen our engineering team

You plan, budget, organize and supervise the implementation of projects within the domain of Manufacturing Technology (MT) in order to realize an optimal delivery of the projects. You give leadership to the process engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Propose and discuss the MT strategy, policies and objectives to and with the plant management team in order to contribute to the strategy of the business and to be aligned with the local team.
  • Work together with subject matter experts, other sites, and business functions to leverage best practices to the site and drive continuous improvement
  • Create a collaborative atmosphere that embraces diversity of thought to create the best solutions
  • Advise on a technological, technical and process level to realize quantitative and qualitative improvements.
  • MT project management responsibility in order to map processes as well as to executed projects in a structured way consulting with leadership, and stakeholders in an efficient and cost conscious way.
  • Implement projects to optimize and improve the processes and guarantee the optimal introduction on site
  • Inform, train and give guidance to technical professionals ensuring best and most efficient use of systems
  • Coach and develop his/her team with respect to skills, competences and know-how
  • Keep his/her knowledge up to date and be alert for new developments in the field of MT, in order to offer best service
Profile
  • You have received training as a bio-engineer (chemical – biochemical), civil engineer or industrial sciences engineer
  • You have 8 years of experience as an engineer in a process manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and experience in the engineering and regulatory standards associated with the safe manufacturing of foods
  • Knowledge and experience in separation and drying unit operations
  • Strong safety leadership and experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and risk-based management skills
  • Data driven and results oriented
  • Strategic and adaptive planning skills
  • In addition to the Dutch language, you are also fluent in English (written & spoken)
