About the Motion Picture Association (MPA)
MPA is the leading advocate of the film, television, and streaming industry around the world. The EMEA office of the MPA, based in Brussels, was opened in 1995. It represents the interests of the motion picture, television, and streaming industry in an incredibly diverse market. Our principal activities include work on legislative and regulatory issues at European and national levels, development and implementation of content protection strategies and collaboration with other right holder groups to promote intellectual property rights and the interest of the audiovisual sector. Stage Outline and Function
The MPA EMEA policy team is offering a full-time internship for 6 months in Brussels. The intern will receive a financial compensation. The selected candidate will work closely with the MPA EMEA Policy Department, maintain the SharePoint of the Policy Team and support the team in different policy areas, such as copyright, media and digital issues.
Specific Activities and Deliverables
- Help the policy team to report, via SharePoint, on the developments in member states with regards to implementation of relevant EU directives.
- Monitor key EU websites with a specific focus on copyright, audiovisual policies, artificial intelligence, privacy and platform regulation.
- Prepare reports on relevant policy events.
Requirements
- Advanced computer skills and advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Previous experience with SharePoint is a plus.
- Professional fluency in English with excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
- Attention to detail, politeness and ability to perform under pressure.
- A demonstrated interest in the cultural and creative sectors, copyright and audiovisual policies, as well as a can-do attitude.
- A demonstrated interest in European affairs and understanding of the EU decision-making process.
- Solid organizational skills, team player attitude and willingness to take initiatives.
- Degree in communication, policy or other relevant field.
- Availability to start in September/October 2021.
