Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a MSAT Downstream Scientist who is hands-on and team player to join us in our Global Biologics Manufacturing Sciences & Technology (MSAT)team, based in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium

What You’ll Do

  • Supporting the setup of the InfleXio MSAT lab
  • Designing and executing lab experiments
  • Proposing creative technical solutions to meet project goals
  • Ensuring accurate and complete documentation of scientific experimental protocols, data and reports
  • Authoring and reviewing technical protocols and reports
  • Participating to the day-to-day housekeeping of the MSAT lab (equipment calibration and maintenance, consumable and raw material ordering)
  • Supporting the development and updating of MSAT lab policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Ensuring that you are appropriately trained in all relevant lab and HSE procedures
  • Applying the appropriate standards of quality and safety in the MSAT lab
  • Providing DSP lab support for Technology Transfers, Process Validations, Manufacturing operations and deviations/investigations as required, by execution of appropriate lab studies
  • Facilitating building of harmonized and standardized procedures for scale down models
  • Running process optimization studies in support of LCM activities
  • Building and maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders
  • Establishing and maintaining familiarity with contemporary industrial standards, practices, technologies, literature and ways of performing lab studies

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • Master’s Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
  • At least 4 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Relevant industrial experience in Downstream Bioprocessing
  • Hands-on Downstream laboratory experience
  • Good understanding of biopharma operations and cGMP
  • Experience in technology transfer and scale-up/scale-down of drug substance processes is a plus
  • Very good knowledge of English, both oral and written; knowledge of French is a plus
  • Strong communication skills : ability to communicate effectively and connect with peers from different functions (matrix organization) to ensure projects are delivered
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Very good technical writing skills
  • Multi-tasking skills: ability to meet deadlines with a high tolerance for ambiguity
