Your tasks as Operations support engineer

As an Operations support engineer, you will analyze the complex technical questions of our business customers and provide solutions. You handle interventions from a to z and also act preventively.

Our Operations support engineers form a close-knit team. That’s only natural: as the heart of the Operations department, we work hard. Thanks to our problem solving and monitoring, our customers remain operational. And that’s important, if you consider that the UZ Gent, among others, relies on our services.

Your tasks include

Assessing the impact of the customer’s problem, giving it the right priority and solving it according to the First Time Right principle.

Understanding trends of recurring problems and KPIs, or recognizing patterns in input from internal and external stakeholders.

Formulate recommendations for optimization and/or expansion of customer infrastructure and propose innovations.

Responsible for the operational management of the network and infrastructure, communicating correctly, efficiently and customer-focused with all internal and external parties.

Helping to maximize customer satisfaction through impeccable service.

Our ideal Operations support engineer ...

• is a real team player who puts our customers’ interests first and gets energy from solving problems. You have good communication skills and a healthy dose of assertiveness.
  
  

You have a bachelor degree or can present relevant experience, or you followed the CCNA1 training at the VDAB.

You have at least three years of experience in a similar position.

You have a background in network techniques, network administration, system administration or ICT.

Knowledge of the telecom sector and Telenet products is of course a big plus.

You communicate fluently in Dutch (speaking and writing). Your French may not be perfect, but you are not afraid to express yourself in French.

You are a customer-oriented problem solver: the customer’s request for help is always your first priority.
