As an Oracle Database Administrator at Colruyt Group and together with your colleagues in Belgium and India, you will ensure that all our databases stay ’up and running’ and well-performing, in particular our Oracle and SQL Server.

Your task package as an Oracle database administrator:

• Together with your team (Database Management Platforms), you manage and maintain two of the most important databases within Colruyt Group: our Oracle and SQL Server. Whatever happens, you ensure that our database always remains running.
• As an Oracle database administrator, you also contribute to improvements and optimisations of the Oracle and SQL Server platforms.
• After a thorough break-in period, you will also take part in the on-call system in which you will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the other databases, among which there is Sybase IQ.
• You are responsible for the implementation of new databases and database-related software according to the needs of our organisation.
• You tackle the performance problems of the database and formulate proposals for improvement. Think of the care for operational safety, the elaboration of back-up strategies, DRP procedures, etc.
• You also give advice to the development teams and support them with the installation and testing of new versions of the database software.

You will work in Halle and/or Zwijnaarde and can telework 2 to 3 days a week.

Profile:

• Education and experience - You have at least a bachelor IT and you are naturally bitten by your VAK area, and by data in general. Experience (also as a hobby or in an internship) is an asset, but your passion for database infrastructure is more important.
• Technical background - You have knowledge of scripting languages (such as Python, bash-scripting, Ansible, etc.) and of Oracle (and preferably SQL Server). SQI and tuning sound familiar to you.
• Immune to stress - Together with your team, you manage the Oracle database, the backbone of our IT network so to speak. During peak moments, you keep a cool head and remain ready to help your colleagues.
• Analytical thinking - You analyse complex problems and take care of the right solution. You work logically, accurately, and methodically.
• Strong team player -You are a team player with an open mind and a flexible attitude. You feel good in a dynamic, international team, and together you like to turn stimulating ideas into concrete projects.
• Independent and pro-active - You are forward-looking and can work very well independently. You like responsibility and take ownership of all your projects. You pro-actively propose solutions and optimisations that offer an added value to Colruyt Group.
• Languages - You communicate fluently in English, so that you can also collaborate easily with your Indian colleagues.
