The R&D Data Science Analytics & Insights team within J&J develops innovative solutions leveraging a variety of different data sources across multiple disease areas. Successful candidates will develop cutting-edge methodologies to drive global development decisions and positively impact the way we conduct trials for patients. We are looking for outstanding scientists whose responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions to accelerate and enable global development
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze and interpret complex datasets
  • Build robust data science solutions with a focus on scalability and traceability to ensure reproducibility of results
  • Implement use-cases adapting and delivering real-world data insights
  • Closely partner with the Data Science Portfolio Management and Therapeutic Area teams to execute on the priorities, building a roadmap to deliver the projects from data feasibility to final presentation to senior cross-functional leaders
  • Shape internal/external collaborations and define the scope of research questions
  • Clearly articulate highly technical methods and results to diverse audiences and partners to drive decision-making

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., computer science, statistics, biostatistics, health economics, biomedical informatics, applied mathematics, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning, deep learning, statistical modeling, causal inference, multivariate regression, and classification
  • Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python and SQL
  • Passionate about leveraging data to drive scientific innovation
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Hands-on technical data analysis and machine learning modeling experience
  • Experience delivering on Data Science projects using predictive technologies, forecasting, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
  • Demonstrated experience in one of the following domains: real-world data (EHR, insurance claims, registry data), building patient cohorts, enrollment modeling, clinical trial analytics
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical work to a wide audience

Expected Base Salary: $95,000 - This is a Fulltime 2 yr fixed-term role.
