Overview

Pricing and Interchange teams develop, coordinate and implement a coherent Pricing and Interchange (P&I) strategy in close cooperation with the business owners. Therefore, pricing and interchange teams are in the heart of any commercial initiative by Mastercard.

For any change in P&I the teams are performing detailed analysis of financial impacts on all impacted parties.

The wide range of products and services that Mastercard is offering around the globe as well as different markets’ conditions lead to various economics models that require extensive calculations and modeling.

To support these calculations Mastercard is developing a global Pricing and Interchange Simulator (PIS).

In this position you will oversee the development, rollout and subsequently operation of the PIS across all regions in Mastercard. You will have to ensure the development and implementation that is on time, on budget and in line with the expectations of the stakeholder in P&I and adjacent teams around the globe. You will own future evolution of the PIS as well its operations.

You will have to work closely with the project team and stakeholders, shaping the requirements, taking the decisions around the path forward for the tool, timelines and prioritization. You will need to combine: high level understanding of software development process, knowledge of pricing and interchange and financial modeling practical experience.

The role would be ideal for somebody with strong background in financial modeling and practical experience and interest in software development.

It will give you unique opportunity to get to know all the inner working of Mastercard’s P&I strategy while also offering deeper software development experience opening potential for various career paths.

Role

In The Role You Will

• Oversee development, rollout and implementation of the PIS in line with the defined requirements.
• Reshape and extend requirements based on your modeling experience, in close cooperation with users, development team, O&T and GBSC.
• Serve as an expertise center for pricing and interchange for the development team.
• Keep development team and O&T accountable for the delivery and operation of the tool.
• Consolidate, analyze and synthesize into the business requirements needs of the users around the globe.
• Come up with original new ways of thinking about and modeling Pricing and Interchange.
• Think out and own future evolution of the tool.
• Ensure operation and future development of the tool. (Including extra functionalities
• Ensure that the stakeholders are properly trained in the usage of the tool.
• Oversee setup and operation of the PIS excellence center.
• Serves as PIS ultimate expert for the organization.
• Serve as an ultimate expert on the usage of the tool.
• Ensure sufficient funding is allocated.
• Change manage the adoption of the tool.
• Support P&I leads in sophisticated P&I projects.
  
  

All About You

The ideal candidate:

• MA in finance, economy, math, physics or computer science
• Excellent analytical skills and an excellent knowledge of Excel
• Practical experience with Power BI, Tableau, R, Python is a major plus
• End-to-end software development experience (either professionally or as a hobby)
• Proven success record in complex financial or other mathematical modeling
• Has ability to formulate user experience and needs into concise business requirements
• Can effectively communicate with both business and technical audiences
• Good at anticipating future requirements and seeing trends.
• Comfortable leading projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Has experience in securing proper resource allocation to the projects in corporate matrix environment.
• is able to conduct complex analysis with an ability to translate technical and analytical output into clear strategies comprehensible for all stakeholders
• is proactive, curious to learn and eager to crack complex topics. Good analytical and problem solving skills;
• is reliable and accountable; able to work independently and stress resilient;
