Job description:

What you will be doing

As Process Engineering manager at Hoboken you provide the design input to the engineering teams in order to realize the project with special focus on safety and cleaner environment aspects. You are responsible for the process support during safety studies, the process design information for the equipment and validation of the equipment. At commissioning and start-up, you will be responsible for the commissioning plan, process follow-up and troubleshooting.

Your responsibilities:

  • support the Project Manager during the basic & design engineering phase;
  • translate the process information of the research lab and engineering into an operational process flowsheet (dimensions of the main equipment, energy and cooling needs, utility requirements, logistic package forms and handling time, impact of shutdowns on interdependent units);
  • establish and manage all this information in an up-to-date master file;
  • be responsible for the process development, consisting of the process flow diagrams and P&ID’s, energy recuperations, ensure equipment and process safety;
  • take the lead and participate in the process hazards studies, you are responsible for the process description of the new process and safety information, necessary to perform the safety studies;
  • take part in the technical evaluation of the engineering equipment proposals by vendor;
  • follow-up experimental tests at vendors;
  • at commissioning and start-up, you will be responsible for the process follow-up and troubleshooting.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who

  • acquired a Master’s degree in engineering, preferably in chemistry or applied sciences
  • has experience with process engineering and/or process safety management systems
  • has the drive to use your technical knowledge to develop a facility that is robust, safe and clean (= environmentally friendly)
  • has technical knowledge and/or background in order to interpret the technical documents, chemical and mechanical knowledge is a plus.
  • has a positive attitude and is team-focused
  • has a sense of responsibility and initiative to independently bring tasks to a successful end stadium in all its phases
  • is a fast learner with hands-on mentality and safety is in your genes
