Job Description

Our client aims to initiate a digital transformation in the manufacturing industry that will significantly strengthen the competitiveness of manufacturing companies in Belgium.

As Project Leader, you will play a crucial role in the ambition mentioned above by ensuring excellence in project execution so that manufacturing companies can use the project results for their specific needs.

The project team consists of experts from different backgrounds, technical fields, universities and companies. As Project Leader, you take the technical lead and encourage researchers to cooperate efficiently and search for new solutions. For your projects, you build a common ambition together with the project partners. In doing so, you strive for excellent project execution, manage the project team and ensure that project results are both industrially relevant and scientifically excellent.

Our ambition is to bridge the gap between research and the real need for new technologies in manufacturing companies. To this end, we defines projects to help manufacturing companies with their technological industry 4.0 challenges. The results of these projects are typically a proof of concept or prototype proving that a particular technology works.

As Project Leader, you are not a technical expert, but you can empathise with the lifeworld of the production companies on the one hand and the research teams on the other.

You have demonstrable management skills and at least 5 years’ experience in project management as a project lead.

Profile / Requirements

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in project and stakeholder management
  • Relationship skills, focused on collaborating and managing a project team from a

’helicopter view’ rather than in-depth technical knowledge

  • Specific experience with low TRL research
  • Specific experience with innovation targeting manufacturing companies
  • Knowledge and experience of bridging the gap between research and industrial application
  • Notable complexity in the previous projects carried out
  • Knowledge of dutch is a plus
