Siemens Energy BeLux and the Business Unit Controls & Digitalization of Belgium is looking for an experienced Project Manager that shall be responsible for the execution of the power plant automation projects in Belgium and French speaking countries.

The Controls and Digitalization BU delivers services and solutions related to control systems for energy power plants at one side, and in particular for the controls of the Siemens Energy gas- and – steam turbines as well as generators.

Customers are utilities, independent power producers, EPC companies and industrial customers.

What is the mission of the function?

The project manager will handle projects of different scope and size in the field of Power Plant Automation. Projects will be delivered in close collaboration with our local technical team and the respective HQ organizations.

Project execution activities (category B, C, S) with the objective of completing the project as stipulated in the contract and on schedule, on budget and in line with quality requirements as well as customer satisfaction.

What are my responsibilities?

Manage the project activities according to PM@Siemens requirements and to customer satisfaction.

Lead decision-making process for efficient planning of cost, time, scope and quality management and provide regular information on project progress reporting (e.g. financials, technical status, risk and opportunities, claims, milestones, schedule, changes, resources)

Fulfill the obligations rising from the existing contracts between Siemens Energy and customers for specific service projects.

Set up and monitor the applicable rules and regulations of occupational health and safety, fire protection and environmental protection that need to be fulfilled at project and site level and make sure that all Siemens Energy and Legal HSE and labor law requirements are met.

Strongly contribute in the evaluation and management of the project’s risks and opportunities in all project phases (i.e. sets up risk mitigation & opportunity plan, evaluates risk mitigation & opportunity costs motivates risk mitigation / opportunity strategies).

Coordinate interfaces between the project team and external partners (customer, consortium partners and authorities) and ensure execution of related part of the works as per the customer contract requirements, design documents and quality standards.

Proactively manage contract variations in the project to ensure project profitability while keeping a fair balance with the customer.

Coordination and close collaboration with external and internal project partners and team members.

Manage and close out project LOP items.

Build up strong direct relationships with the customer and efficiently support escalation processes. Build up strong relationships with the relevant departments in Siemens Energy HQ, sub suppliers and respective functional departments

Implementing and monitoring a suitable communication plan (internal and external) to install effectively communication with all stake holders in a timely manner.

Provide support for sales activities and client relationship and participate in sustaining and improving customer satisfaction processes

Support the organization to develop our installed fleet and increase the overall customer satisfaction.

What do I need to be qualified for this job?

Your Skill Set Will Have To Include (among Others) The Following Capabilities

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic professional holding preferably 3 years power plant automation project experience.

Master degree in Engineering

Careful planning and analytical thinking to achieve accurate and timely results

Very good command of Dutch, French and English language.

Good knowledge in MS Office Applications

Communicate effectively with all stake holders in a timely manner

Minimum 1-3 years of work experience in project management as part of a project team or as project manager

Minimum 1-3 years work experience in power plant automation business and in particular in upgrade and migration projects.

Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems (I&C) and of Siemens controls systems (DCS, SPPA-T3000, PCS7, Step 7, WinCC, etc.)

Ownership of tasks and results orientation

High sense of ethics

Strong customer orientation

Experience with working abroad and in teams made up of international members, working within intercultural environments

No limit to go abroad (working in French speaking countries, France, West & Central Africa, DOM-TOM’s)
