• This position is responsible for guarding the requirement elicitation process for tapes products.
• Inputs are gathered from but not limited to customers, R&D, process and production engineers, and ATS (Applied Technical Services). The goal is to translate all needs into product, process, and raw material specifications.
• With all inputs, the development quality engineer is providing governance on the design, prototyping, and testing during the development phase until the moment of SCUT when the tasks are handed over to the trial coordinator.
• Close cooperation is needed with the Supplier Quality department, procurement, and suppliers in order to secure the product specifications of the raw materials.
• The development quality engineer will also be part of the development teams of R&D and is a fixed member of the stage gate review committee. He/she will critically assess all the specifications in the development phase and define the needs on SC (Special Characteristics).
• The test requirements and feasibility will be discussed and agreed upon with the QA lab and translated into test instructions.
• Together with production engineers, process engineers, cell experts and lead operators the feasibility, design for manufacturability and preliminary process capabilities will be assessed and improved. If needed additional IC (Inspection Characteristics) will be added to the specifications.
• One of the tasks in this process is also facilitating the review of existing or creating new PFMEA’s. This also implies governance over the review of the PFMEA’s which are owned by the production engineers.
• At the end of the ECR phase of development, the development engineer assures a mature product is handed over to the trial coordinator.
• The function reports to the site quality manager.

The employee will have the following authority:

• Veto right in the stage gate review committee.
• Governance on the PFMEA review process.
• Signing off on raw material specs
• Signing off on an agreed test and/or (initial) control plan

• Familiar with industry standards and regulatory guidelines such as but not restricted to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, ISO 13485, QAKE, FSC
• Must be able to interact well with peers, coworkers, and senior personnel in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong technical background
• Knowledge of statistical methods and tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
• Analytical and organizational skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Willing and able to travel up to 5%.
