Recycle & Sustainable Material Engineer (M/F/X) Walloon Brabant – Contracting, CDI #Material #Chimical #IMDS #Recycle #Recycling #Plastic #Engineering #Automotive Do you have experience in the field of Recycle material development ? In an industrial environment? Keep reading then, our partner is looking for a Material Engineer to support its team. This international company is well-known worldwide in the Automotive Sector. What are your responsibilities? Recycled and sustainable material development Investigation of available technologies and materials on recycling and sustainability in EU market and confirm suitability to our client’s requirements. Deliverable Summary of investigated technologies from key material manufacturers and in EU Technology map of existing approved material grades and potential material grades Details To inform supplier about its requirements for sustainable materials via face to face communication. To confirm supplier performance by actual material and/or part evaluation, supplier documentation. To share technology map with internal stakeholders (i.e design, purchasing, project management) Visualization of amount of recycled materials in vehicles and set scenario to increase recycled material ratio Deliverable Establish and update database for amount of recycled material usage based on IMDS and supplier information. Details To confirm supplier use of recycled materials by email and/or face-to face communication To confirm use by analysis of IMDS database. To share database information to internal stakeholders (i.e design, purchasing, project management). Assessment of LCA for recycled material technology Deliverable Validation result of LCA assessment of recycled material vs virgin material Details Gather material & processing data information upon discussion with recycling and material company Visualize and summary the data in terms of their effectiveness in environmental contribution. Use Gabi LCA model and calculate contribution of each parameter compared to virgin plastic. Development of new plastic recycled materials and confirm suitability to our partner’s requirements. Deliverable Validation result summary of material and part performance for different technologies Creation of proposal for implementation scheme into vehicles . Details To inform supplier about our client’s requirements for sustainable materials via face to face communication. To arrange the necessary materials and parts To prepare validation plan for selected material technology To visit supplier (pending Covid condition) to confirm technology detail, confirmation of trial and testing results and discuss action plan for technology. To perform actual validation for physical properties, emissions, environmental ageing tests on both material confirm performance by actual material and/or part evaluation, supplier documentation. To perform root cause analysis for any NG results and investigate possible countermeasures in collaboration with other parties (suppliers, designer etc). To summarize the evaluation results and present a future development plan. Who are you? Master Degree in Chemical engineering preferred (Material Engineering). Mechanical engineering is option. Preference for strong plastic engineering background and minimum 2 years’ experience with Automotive industry. Experience for other sustainable technologies and LCA understanding is a plus. Strongly analytical mindset Strong interest/capabilities for information screening using searching tools on Internet (papers, etc.) Fluency in English. Any other European language is a plus.
