Job Description

Your Role:

As a Safety Engineer, you will be crucial in advancing our strategic initiatives, such as the European Train Control System (ETCS) and signal box concentration projects. You will ensure the highest safety and reliability standards across our network.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management: Lead and manage railway signaling projects, including the implementation of ETCS and interlocking systems.

Design Support: Collaborate with design teams on safety-related aspects of signaling projects, contributing to the development of robust signaling systems.

Safety Reviews: Conduct regular safety reviews, engaging with design teams, testing teams, project managers, and users to ensure comprehensive safety oversight.

Safety Activities: Execute and monitor activities outlined in safety plans using professional analysis methods such as FMECA, FTA, HAZOP, PHI/PHA, adhering to CENELEC EN50126/EN50128/EN50129 standards.

Documentation: Accurately document all safety activities and compile them into safety dossiers, working closely with external evaluators to obtain necessary certifications.

Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback based on project experiences and propose improvements to enhance safety processes in future projects.

Collaboration: Work within a team of Safety Engineers and report regularly to the Team Lead, fostering a collaborative environment.

Profile / Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

Experience: Significant experience as a Safety Manager in railway signaling.

Technical Expertise: Proficiency in IEC61508, EN 50126, EN50128, and EN 50129 standards, and familiarity with FMECA, FTA, PHA, SHA, IHA, and RAM methods.

Language Skills: Ability to read and write technical documentation in English.

Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on understanding cause-and-effect relationships and distinguishing essential from non-essential information.

Proactive Attitude: Solution-oriented, able to take initiative and manage projects independently while meeting deadlines.

Communication: Strong ability to motivate and communicate positively about safety.
