Established in 2013 in Greece and 2020 in Belgium, it specializes in the development of innovative cellular and gene therapy products and is involved in the commercialization of a diverse pipeline of Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) products. Through strategic partnerships Theracell Advanced Biotechnology participates in the global vision of the realization of Personalized Medicine tailored to individual patient needs. In 2020 the formation of its key partnership with Orgenesis (www.orgenesis.com), became the basis for expansion of the therapeutic pipeline, with novel cell and gene therapy products developed using tailored processes to meet patients’ needs.

In order to support the growth of Theracell (Belgium), we are seeking for a Scientific Project Manager

The Scientific Project Manager will support research and program development requiring a high degree of scientific knowledge. This position will play a key role in research, program development and be actively involved in supervision and coordination of partners.

We are looking for someone with a track record of independence and self-motivation, with writing and communication skills. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in cell and molecular biology and experience managing complex projects. PhD degree in biomedical and pharmaceutical science or related field plus at least five years of applicable experience as project manager in private biotech company is a must.

Responsibilities And Essential Duties

The Scientific Project Manager main role is to initiate, develop and implement scientific projects. In order to fulfil his/her role, the Scientific Project Manager is focused on the following topics:
  • He /She is responsible for the design, initiation, development, and the delivery of scientific projects.
  • ­He /She communicates, coordinates, organizes activities and leads with multi-disciplinary teams in accordance with the mission and to meet timelines.
  • He/She c ompletes project-related administrative and budgetary responsibilities
  • He /She assists with designing wet lab experiments; conducts experiments and provides scientific guidance.
  • He/She e nsures compliance to quality standards set by regulations and procedures.
  • He/She w rite s scientific/technical protocols and reports .
  • He/She a ctively participates in the training of newcomers .
  • Other duties may also be assigned
Qualification and Experience:
  • Ph.D. degree in biomedical and pharmaceutical science or related discipline
  • ­Relevant Pharma/Biotech industry experience as project manager (> 5 years)
  • ­Knowledge and hands-on experience with various molecular/cell biology analytical methods (such as qPCR, FACS, ELISA,...)
  • Experience managing projects supported by Walloon Region is a plus
  • ­GXP experience is a plus
  • Experience in bioreactors cell culture, or expertise for investigating stem cells and extracellular exosomes and micro vesicles from biological fluids is a plus
  • Experience in dermatology is a plus
  • Experience on preclinical models is a plus
