Senior Actuary / Quantitative Expert (f/m/x)

Your mission (should you choose to accept it ):

As our Senior Actuary, you will serve as the principal quantitative expert bridging business strategy and operational services. You’ll provide high-level actuarial oversight across the organization, leading critical initiatives in:

• Advanced risk modeling and portfolio optimization
• Actuarial pricing strategy development
• Product innovation and development
• Implementation of sophisticated AI/ML solutions
• Strategic claims analysis and reserving
• Building analytical capabilities

We’re the Innovation & Continuous Improvement Team (ICI Team) and we are looking for a good match to fill in the spot of quantitative expert. Together with us, you will support the business where needed and help to make DAS a more data-driven and innovative company. You will also handle all types of quantitative requests throughout the company. • Lead complex quantitative analyses that drive strategic decision-making
• Develop and implement advanced actuarial models
• Provide expert consultation on product portfolio management
• Design innovative pricing methodologies
• Deliver executive-level insights on risk assessment
• Establish analytical frameworks and best practices
• Support the team to escape some quantitative labyrinths
• Coach/mentor and train quantitative professional

• Perfect knowledge of Dutch or French, a good understanding of the other language, and you have no issues with English (if you’re reading this without a translate lens then you might be fine)
• A Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Engineering, or equivalent senior experience
• Minimum 5+ years of actuarial/quantitative experience in insurance or financial services
• Advanced proficiency in statistical modeling and data analysis
• Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills and experience with specialized actuarial software
• Proven ability to translate complex analyses into actionable business insights
• Strategic thinking with demonstrated leadership capabilities
• Independent problem-solver with strong team collaboration skills
• A fondness for numbers and an ease to explain analyses to people with less analytical insights;
• You proactively tackle issues you discover.
• You know what makes you tick, are eager to learn and develop yourself;
• Pragmatic, open for feedback, critical yet positive;
• Even if you can perfectly work independently you are (self-steered) team minded.

Some nice-to-haves:

• Professional actuarial certification or in advanced stages of completion
• Experience in non-life insurance pricing and reserving
• Expertise in AI/machine learning applications in insurance
• Qlik or other business intelligence platform proficiency
• Track record of implementing innovative analytical solutions
