The role of Sr Project Manager is be responsible for managing / executing projects

Being responsible for delivering projects on schedule and within budget while engaging customers and owners across multiple functions in line with the duties and responsibilities as outlined below.

This role supports CGT sites globally, including Gene Therapy, Viral Vectors and Cell Therapies.

The Role

• Be responsible for project management execution and management of a team that delivers the initiation, design, construction, commissioning and operational start-up of business initiatives / goals, programs, manufacturing equipment, facilities, laboratories and office buildings.
• Ensure that project delivery methodologies, project management processes/principles and project management tools are utilized to achieve project goals. Own the key project management business processes and improves and simplifies these processes continuously.
• Partner proactively and align with key customers to develop and execute capital projects that support business objectives
• Partner proactively with other group/function managers with strategic partners (Finance, Procurement, etc.) to support business objectives, streamline business processes impacting project planning/execution, and implement business process changes.
• Delivers successful projects, effectively balancing quality, scope, cost and schedule.
• Provide guidance, direction and advice to area PM’s (contract and site) with respect to actions or decisions related to changes in project scope, schedule and cost.
• Manage the project controls function in support of active capital projects.
• Analyze and review the capital forecast and other planning tools to assess resource requirements and help determine staffing requirements.
• Provide feedback and guidance to project staff.
• Support Manufacturing and/or Facilities personnel in trouble-shooting problems in the operation of pharmaceutical and industrial manufacturing facility systems and equipment.
• Support due diligence investigations as needed for acquisition and partnership targets.
• Demonstrated partnership with the Process Development / MSAT function within Catalent
• Follow corporate standards and best practices.
  
  

The Candidate

• BS/MS in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering
• Advanced Degree in technical / business area a plus.
• Experience in PM role for CGT/Bio project, leading the projects of $10M+ of value
• Clear technical experience in design and operation of CGT technologies.
• 5-10 years of engineering related experience (with min 5 years in BioPharm/CGT Industry)
• Experience working in cross-functional / cross-site environment and full equipment life cycle
• Experience with building manufacturing, especially with cleanrooms
• Strong record of delivering business impactful Engineering projects
• Experience working in global environment, across diverse cultures
• Related experience required for FDA / EMA regulated environments.
• This position is an individual contributor role, but it will manage external/internal resources in terms of contractors, site staff allocated for project support and/or equipment suppliers etc.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership and conflict resolution skills will be required, as the role works frequently in a resource challenged and schedule sensitive environment.
• General knowledge requirements include all applicable building codes and related regulations, basic design and construction methodologies and expertise in project management practices.
• Contacts with suppliers and outside collaborators will occur at the highest levels in those organizations.
• Advisor to top management on project execution strategies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas, goals, and results to various audiences. Must deliver effective presentations to senior management.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
• Ability to influence and manage individuals without having direct authority over those individuals
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English. Good command of French. Some knowledge in German is an asset
• PC literacy required (MS Office - Word, Project, Excel)
