As a Senior Finance Officer at DESelect, you will play a crucial role in managing financial activities, process improvement, maintaining accurate records, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.

You will work closely with the CEO, ExCo and other stakeholders to ensure financial stability and compliance.

This position is based out of Antwerp, Berchem.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Budget Management: Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment collection, and vendor management
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including tax requirements, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and internal policies
  • Cash Management: Monitor cash flow and manage cash balances to optimize liquidity and financial performance
  • Financial Systems: Utilize financial software and systems to maintain accurate records and streamline financial processes
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial operations and implement efficient solutions
Requirements

  • Higher degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in Dutch and English
  • Proven experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in the SaaS industry (a minimum of 5 years preferred)
  • Experience with Transfer Pricing (TP) is a plus
  • Experience with doing a US Tax Return is a plus (do note that our main tax return happens in our Belgian entity)
  • You will take ownership of our Finance processes and systems, which may include migrating tools
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and standards
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Exact, Excel, and ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines

**Optional Skills:**

  • Certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
  • Experience with financial modelling and forecasting
  • Knowledge of SaaS metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Familiarity with subscription-based revenue models and billing processes
