Welcome to BASF Antwerp NV, the second largest production site of the BASF group, and the largest chemical company in Belgium. We are looking for a Service controller who wants to be part of our fascinating company.
As Service Unit Controller, you will be responsible for finance and controlling related topics for one or more Service Units at the BASF Antwerp Verbund site. For your area of expertise, you are the financial cornerstone resulting in an intensive interaction with the local Service Unit management. You understand what drives the department’s operations and add value by providing the necessary financial information which management requires to achieve its targets. You act as a reliable financial spokesperson for the department towards the rest of the organization, resulting in an intensive interaction with business unit controllers, third party management, finance colleagues as well as with the controlling department in our headquarters.
More specifically, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- You gain insight in the department’s operations and processes in order to be able to take up the role of respected business partner, translating the department’s challenges in realistic financial plans and supporting its management with correct financial analysis.
- You assure reliable financial information, which includes yearly budgeting, monthly reporting (month and year end closing) of the department’s financial result and monthly forecasting.
- You analyze cost trends together with the local management to identify cost drivers and jointly define actions to increase value and meet financial targets.
- You have a thorough understanding of underlying financial processes, so that you can drive initiatives to further optimize, simplify and digitalize where possible.
- Beyond that, you will be part of a committed controlling team at the Antwerp Verbund site that shares best practices and implements common solutions, striving to increase value for our internal customers.
- You have a master degree with an excellent understanding of accounting and relevant working experience in Controlling.
- You have a hands-on approach and combine strong communicative and analytical skills to drive business decisions forward.
- You are an enthusiastic team player who can work independently, but also enjoys sharing experience with your colleagues.
- You challenge the status-quo, constantly looking for opportunities in cooperation with your Service Unit to improve efficiency and to add value as controlling.
- You have a good knowledge of MS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with SAP is a plus.
- A fluent knowledge of Dutch is required.
