Service Operations Manager

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) is world market leader in offshore wind power, and with our innovations SGRE aims to make the difference for wind power projects throughout the world. SGRE supplies wind turbines and is an outstanding supplier of reliable, environmentally friendly and affordable renewable energy systems. In 53 countries worldwide we supply clean and renewable energy in the form of wind turbines with a total capacity of 70 GW, of which 50 GW under service. Well-known projects in the Benelux include the Gemini project, Westermeerwind Wind Farm, Borssele I&II, Hollandse Kust Zuid, Hollandse Kust Noord, Rentel and SeaMade.

As a result of our continuous growth we are looking for a Service Operations Manager to join our Service team in the BENELUX. As Service Operations Manager you will be responsible for the service contract of one of our offshore Wind Turbine sites in the Benelux. You have to fulfil and manage the service contract, best practice sharing and optimization. You are P&L responsible and will report to the Head of Operations of SGRE Services Operations.

You have to ensure compliance with EHS standards according to SGRE and local requirements and have to implement the Zero Harm policy in your team. Zero Harm is a SGRE initiative/program that is based on three principles;

  • A goal of zero incidents is achievable,
  • We are responsible for our own health and safety,
  • We are obliged to intervene if another’s health or safety is at risk.

You will lead, manage and develop the management team of the Wind Turbines site consisting out of Site Management, Service Coordinators and Warehouse Management. This team is responsible for providing service to our customer according to the service contract.

The ideal candidate will have previous operations management experience, a natural talent for getting the best out of teams, strong communication skills and is well structured. A sound understanding of the technologies used in wind turbines (or similar) and tools to manage wind turbines is a must. An international network within SGRE Services is a big advantage.

What are the key responsibilities associated with the job?

  • Design and deliver support and service solutions for customers in line with the contract, procedures and regulations of SGRE Services;
  • Install a high-performance culture in the team with a focus on safety, team work, service excellence and ownership for resolving customer issues;
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of the team against SLA/KPI’s and driving change as needed to deliver continuous service improvement in line with the goal to be the world class managed service provider in the region;
  • Encourage open communication between team members, allowing the team to bring forward ideas on how they can collectively deliver a more effective service;
  • Ensure quality, up-to-date documentation exists for all service arrangements;
  • Provide proactive input into the divisional strategy with particular focus into opportunities to grow and/or enhance the present and new services offered;
  • Achieve consistent customer satisfaction ratings and respond appropriate to customer feedback on areas of improvement.

Contacts

As a Service Operations Manager you manage and develop strategic partnerships with third party suppliers and other internal and external stakeholders. Your main internal contacts will be the Management Team of Services Operations, Service Operations management, Project Management, Sales, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Department, Human Relations and Global Supply Chain Management. Main external contacts will be customer, sub-contractors, suppliers and other external partners.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Ideally the candidate should be degree educated (for instance Bachelor Technical or Business Economics) or equivalent level in experience.
  • Previous experience leading teams and dealing with commercial and operational activities ideally within a Service environment.
  • Experience managing and developing customer relationships.
  • Product technical knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Ability to travel (60%) to various locations within the BENELUX or offshore trips.
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English. Additional languages are considered a benefit.
