Site Reliability Data Scientist

ING IT department is looking for a Reliability Data Scientist. You will be part of SRE squad in charge of site reliability engineering of BE application chains and systems

Are you someone who is …

• Familiar with Site Reliability Engineering discipline who aims to create ultra-scalable and highly reliable software systems.

And you have as well …

• Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL),
• Programming with Python & Pandas and/or R.
• A minimum of 2 years of work experience in data analytics
• Machine learning skills, able to leverage algorithms in the context of outlier detection, feature extraction, regression/classification etc.
• Big data processing architectures & frameworks (Apache Spark)
• Experienced with building data pipelines
• Able to generate data visualizations (d3.js, tableau, ggplot etc.)
• Knowledge of Graph databases such as Neo4j
• Experience & Ambition in Site Reliability Engineering and advocating (ensuring) this among peers
• Fluency in Dutch and/or French is a plus and a good knowledge of English is a must

Your role …

• Analytics: You will guide teams using data and insights. You will focus on developing hypotheses and employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them.
• Communication and influence: You won’t simply present data but tell data-driven stories. You will convince and influence your partners using clear insights and recommendations. You will build credibility through structure and clarity and be a trusted strategic partner.
• You will use data and analysis to identify and solve reliability’s biggest challenges. You will influence reliability strategy and investment decisions with data, be focused on impact, and collaborate with other teams.
• You will be part of a team responsible for the reliability of ING’s applications which we do through a combination of software & systems engineering as well as enforcing best practices (Release procedures, Postmortems, Capacity Management etc.). We do this in a complex IT landscape with many interconnected applications.
• You use your influence to improve engineering, process and patterns for every service / component that is part of the application chains serving our customer journeys.
