The primary purpose of the Reliability Engineer (RE) is to analyse the performances of the Belgium sites in terms of safety, reliability, availability and maintenance costs. Working closely with the Belgium reliability network and with several disciplines ; you will optimize the technical performances by creating/updating standards in terms of reliability, safety and environmental integrity of the Belgium sites.
The RE ensures that required methodologies, such as criticality analyses and asset criticality ranking, RBI, RCM, FMECA and spare parts studies, are available and facilitates related workshops. The RE must be able to work closely with individuals from all engineering disciplines, crafts, and operators in order to create a proactive defect elimination mindset.
The Reliability Engineer reports directly to the Reliability Senior Manager.
Your Responsibilities
- You will ensure the implementation of the reliability maintenance strategy for GSK Belgium sites
- You will facilitate the reliability process to ensure the identification, the priorisation, and the mitigation of the Belgium sites performances threats.
- You will develop global standards, and tools to improve the performances ; and standardize the practices through Belgium sites.
- You will align and follow the Maintenance Excellence Reliability actions plans in all Belgium M/SPU
- You will create/update the global documentation.
- You will follow the transversal issues and actions identified during the reliability Belgium Governance or coming from other inputs.
- You will support the Belgium reliability engineers to improve the performances in all M/SPU.
Technical Expertise
- Maintain current knowledge of regulations and guidance, regulatory expectations, QMS and technical standards, innovative technologies, inspection intelligence and industry standards related to area of expertise
- Liaise with Vx Global subject matter experts (MSAT, Global Quality, ...) to ensure alignment with global requirements and benefit from their expertise and experience.
- Rely on knowledge and expertise to propose and/or develop innovative approaches to drive performance and continuous improvement to domain of expertise
- Be content owner for area of expertise, provide expertise support at local/site level (e.g. may be fronter during audits/inspections, prepares dry runs and response writing; for risks, observations, deviations, improvement initiatives, remediation).
- May contribute to the definition and/or revision of GSK Vaccines GxP requirements, policies and standards and ensure compliance when applying them at local/site level (through QMS, VSOPs, technical standards or other means).
- Maintain knowledge of domain of expertise through regular presence and interaction with business/shop floor.
- Provide input/give advice on projects related to area of expertise in MPU/SPU. May lead transversal projects related to area of expertise.
- Manage network of local SME/SPOCs and encourage good practices sharing
- Maintain relationship with global and technical experts within the organization (site, Vaccines)
- Set mid-long term vision and drive implementation of site/local strategy on area of expertise within network Process Ownership
- Ensure deployment of the system/process defined strategy throughout network and ensure harmonization at local/site level.
- Monitor system/process effectiveness & performance at local/site level (check #in use#)
- Collect and analyze data, anticipate and participate to solving of issues, troubleshooting, drive appropriate remediation/action plans, highlight best practices, drive continuous improvement in area of expertise
- Escalate risks, gaps, resources, #. for area of expertise to appropriate local/site governance
- Own, manage and maintain applicable transversal (site) procedures, tools, templates and other documents (SOPs, WKIs) linked to area of expertise. Be consulted for revision of local procedures & documents
- Manage and develop competencies and knowledge of all actors for domain of expertise
- Develop or contribute to develop and/or evaluate the content of technical training in his domain of expertise, and also deliver training material
- Mentor and coach LSPOCs/experts/actors on domain of expertise
- Participate to experts
- Network at site level; able to transfer expertise to internal/external stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Engineering degree at BSc/MSc level
- Education in reliability engineering and/or maintenance management
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience in reliability engineering
- Experience with CMMS, preferably SAP
- Working Knowledge of maintenance contracts and spare parts management
- Knowledge of condition based performance monitoring systems
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Skilled in Maintenance methodologies like RBI, RCM, FMECA and CBM and corresponding tools
- Skilled in Root Cause Failure Finding techniques such as RCA, Kepner & Tregoe©
- Works closely and in conjunction with operations, engineering and maintenance including technical services, procurement and warehouse management.
- A sound understanding of reliability and maintenance engineering and broad knowledge of equipment dominant failures
- Strong in IT data mining and processing of data
- Experienced in facilitating, planning and organizing multi-disciplined workshops like RCA, RBI, RCM, FMECA
- Must be able to exercise good judgment in order to set priorities
- Result oriented
- Easy communication in English, speech and writing
- Ability to work under pressure, solve challenges, get support and make decisions.
