Job description

As a (Senior) Project Engineer Offshore Cables:

You make an overall analysis of the economically and operationally most efficient method, taking into account the circumstances of the project and the quality and safety. Depending on the complexity of the files that are treated, this task is carried out in regular consultation with the Project Manager.

You draw up a detailed analysis of installation methods and gather the necessary information to allow the execution within the predetermined parameters.

You point out problems and bottlenecks to the Project Manager with the aim of achieving a substantiated solution.

You have technical discussions with clients and control organisms in collaboration with the

Project Managers. Prepare and be responsible for the communication with external parties.

Be responsible for the preparation of the external communication.

You collaborate with the survey department, technical department and production department to share the necessary knowledge according to the project requirements (e.g. conversion of vessels) so that they can be developed in practice.

Upon starting the works on site, a Senior Project Engineer is responsible for:

The supervision of the execution and further planning of the works.

The daily assessment of the real versus estimated progress of the assigned project.

You are responsible for drawing up, elaborating and calculating methods of implementation and documentation in analysis reports and method statements in preparation of the works.

You are responsible for following up the works as soon as they are in progress in consultation with the Offshore Manager (Cables) or Project Manager.

Job requirements

You are a civil/industrial engineer or a mechanical engineer with at least 1 to 3 years for the Project Engineer role, and 4+ years relevant experience in the engineering and execution of cable installation projects for the Senior Project Engineer role. Since you have excellent organizational skills and you have a great sense of responsibility, you will certainly fit in well with our team. Place of employment can be in the office in Aalst or Luxembourg, but if you are open to travel for regular and longer trips, you can also work on board of one of the four vessels and execute the projects, or maybe even a combination of both.
