To strengthen our IT (Security) Team, we are currently looking for a:

System Engineer

As a System Engineer, you are responsible for the management and optimization of our Microsoft-based infrastructure and systems. You play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity and security of our IT environment. You work closely with other IT professionals to ensure that our systems operate efficiently and reliably. You report to the ICT System & Operations Manager.

Your tasks & responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server environments on-premise and in the Cloud (Azure).
  • Implementation and management of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Support and management of Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, SharePoint environments.
  • Performing system updates, patches, and security configurations.
  • Monitoring system performance and resolving technical issues.
  • Designing and implementing backup and recovery strategies.
  • Collaborating with other IT teams within the group to support and implement projects.
  • Providing second and third-line support for complex technical issues.
  • Documenting system configurations and procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining scripts for automation and optimization of system management.
  • Sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues and other teams to promote overall IT competence.

Your profile

  • Education: at least a Bachelor’s degree in ICT.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Microsoft System Administrator both on-premise and in the Cloud.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Active Directory
    • Microsoft stack: Microsoft 365, XDR Stack, Intune Endpoint Mgmt, Azure AD, Entra ID, etc.
    • Network security: Networking basics, segmentation principles, Firewalls (Fortinet and Sophos)
    • Microsoft Windows Server
    • Exchange Online
  • Additionally, experience with:
    • Azure Cloud technologies
    • SharePoint management and support.
    • PowerShell.
    • Backup. Knowledge of Veeam is a plus.
    • Virtualization platforms (such as Hyper-V, VMware, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Vulnerability Management (Tenable, Rapid7,…) and Security Frameworks (CIS18, NIST, …) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
  • Ability to effectively share knowledge and mentor others.
  • Relevant MS certifications are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
