Job Purpose and Impact

The Technical Account Manager Customer Solutions - Food Service focusses on bringing vegetable oils/fats solutions and services to the food services key customers (Quick Serving Restaurants, Catering, Potato parfryers), while being a fully embedded member of the Technical Services R&D Team Europe.

The Customer Solution Manager is the primary technical contact for the category’s customers helping them to achieve growth targets and supporting development of projects, creating more profitable business for Cargill. You identify customer needs and new opportunities, find and propose solutions, lead projects, communicate and provide customers trainings. You are a trusted expert to the customer and give technical support to account managers.

Locations: Belgium(Vilvoorde, Izegem), Netherlands(Schiphol), Germany(Hamburg)

Key Accountabilities

Partners with the Regional customer’s Research & Development and Quality teams for Food Service customers to understand the business strategy and anticipate needs of the customer (e.g. reformulations, cost optimization, service solution).
  • Participates in technical involvement in customer contract negotiation/quarterly meetings, propose strategy, positioning and value proposition.
  • Collaborate with commercial team on providing product, application, ingredient, processing expertise and training.
  • Acts as the technical link with Marketing & Commercial team, working directly with other functions to assess opportunities for improvement and provide advice and consultation.
  • Deploys the category strategy and ensures all applicable teams are in line to build overall value for the category.
  • Constantly expands knowledge on customers, the application and markets to create solutions for new projects.
  • Independently handles complex issues with minimal supervision, escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of fats and oils and interactions with other ingredients in food systems
  • Two or more years experience translating customer or industry needs into commercial solutions
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master degree in food chemistry, food technology, chemistry, human nutrition or other related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the application of fats and oils chemistry in commercial applications, or in the (potato) par-frying, food service (Quick Serving Restaurants, catering) or frying equipment industry.
  • 5 years of relevant customer facing working experience in a technical advisory role and associate customer relationship network
  • Knowledge of and experience with/in food service; what are key drivers and who are the key players.
  • Action driver with emotional intelligence, energetic, excellent influencing skills.
  • High affinity for digital solutions and applications; to support customer pilots and to contribute to continuous improvement
  • Customer relationships with key players in the industry.
  • Fluent in English, written and oral + min working knowledge of at least 1 other European language (German, French, Spanish)
  • Experience in project management for good outcomes
  • Trained in sales effectiveness or comparable program
  • Experience to work with tools like SalesForce.com
