About Rechargeable Battery Materials (RBM)

Reducing harmful vehicle emissions. Giving new life to used metals. Powering the cars of the future. As a global materials and technology group, we apply our specialist knowledge to offer materials and solutions that are essential to everyday life. We aim to be a clear world leader in materials for clean mobility and recycling and have turned our sustainability approach into an even greater competitive advantage. With ambitions like this, imagine what you could do?

What you will be doing

RBM’s current strategic growth plan defines where to locate production capacity to meet market demand for materials for rechargeable batteries.
In this context, a global programme of investment projects has been established, requiring additional Engineering resources to lead the implementation of strategic and advanced investments in an international context and to manage the teams involved, including external engineering resources.
Supporting the above plan, the Utilities Engineering Manager is responsible for the team creating the Utilities and layouts.
The position has a key role in expansion projects that will provide more capacity to our three main types of production steps, leaching and refining, precursor and cathode active materials. We contribute phenomenally to solving technical problems and propose plant improvements to meet process requirements.
As Utilities Engineering Manager, you will prepare projects together with our process engineering team and construction colleagues. You prepare the utilities of new production plants or parts of them. You ensure that this is done within the budget and scope of the project. After the initial plan is drawn up, you work together with our local teams to start construction. We highly value collaboration! You remain available for challenging questions and comments for the rest of the projects. If essential to the project, you will travel to the factory to share your plans with the local teams. What do we expect from you?

  • Guarantees multiple sources of equipment and services for the needs of technical projects.
  • Gathers relevant data to advise decision-makers on advanced issues.
  • Supports the regional engineering team during project implementation and commissioning.
  • Collects lessons learned from previous projects and integrates them into standards/templates/procedures for future projects.
  • Participates in establishing the most efficient organisational structures of Engineering and anticipates or adapts to changing environments
