You have a background in supply chain and/or logistics? You’re experienced in continuous improvement AND a strong people manager? You could be the warehouse manager we are looking for!

This position is responsible for the BRU Warehouse Logistics supporting the Integrated Solutions Commercial Programmes. An understanding of the end-to-end supply chain is essential in order to coordinate it effectively. The Operations Manager will be responsible to maximize the facilities efficiency, quality, productivity, profitability and performance, by ensuring all operations are running smoothly.

  • Responsible for the BRU operational logistics performance including exacting standards and controlling an efficient output of Logistics operations to ensure customer SLA is met.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by managing customer complaints, audit findings and internal Aprise events.
  • Establish and implement short and long term organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
  • Provides advice and recommendations to leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of new or modified operating policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Motivate and effectively performance manage the warehouse staff within the facility to ensure delivery of overall targets and business plan.
  • Provide professional leadership to all staff employed by the component and service as the principal point of expertise on all matters relating to the specified functional area of focus.
  • Ensure that all BRU Warehouse staff are trained, competent and authorised for duties performed.
  • Identify strengths and opportunities for improvement through the quarterly appraisal with the BRU warehouse employees.
  • Drive Quality IAW ISO 9001/AS9120 across the Warehouse and Logistics processes, including a quality and safety first ethos in line with the valid regulations and procedures.
  • KPI Analysis of the Logistics performance and lead/support for reporting Continuous Improvement (CI) projects. The continuous identification implementation of operational best practice through interaction with the wider team and the utilisation of six sigma tools. Formulate and implant KPIs improving productivity and accuracy.
  • Facility management of the Warehouse. Ensuring that individual contract service level agreements are in place.
  • Financially manage the operation within the published budget constraints. Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs.
  • Manage the team in accordance with company values, processes and procedures whilst ensuring facility management.
  • Ensuring import, export control and trade compliance requirements, in collaboration with the Traffic and Senior operations manager are met.
  • Utilise the Dir. Ops’ Management Operating System (IMOPS) being accountable for the exacting standards and control and efficient output of the BRU Warehouse.
  • Ensure compliance laws in relation to environmental, health and Safety.
  • Manage relations with local suppliers including social secretariat, interim agencies and the building landlord.
  • Manage local procurements
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirement

  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Logistics, Business Management or related field , or equivalent experience
  • Previous working experience within international supply chain, logistics and warehousing environment (preferably Aviation though not essential)
  • Experience in a Warehouse Supervisory role or similar
  • Effective Project Management skills
  • Proven experience in leading a multi-faceted team
  • Track record of successful change management and organization development
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Languages: efficient in speaking both English and Flemish
  • Decision Making: demonstrate strong judgement and decision making skills
  • Organization: very detail oriented and always comes prepared.
  • Communication: excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Initiative: plans work and carries out tasks without detailed instructions, prepares for problems or opportunities in advance, undertakes additional responsibilities
  • Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others

You’ll be responsible of a team of 15 warehouse officers, while reporting to your Senior Operations Manager who’s based in the UK.
