For our intervention center in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw (see the map here) we’re looking for an Welder-Pipefitter (m/f/x).

The Sint-Pieters-Leeuw Intervention Centre is primarily tasked with ensuring the continuity of the natural gas grid. To this end, our teams are ready 24 hours a day to carry out scheduled and unforeseen work on our gas transmission facilities, as well as adapting, repairing and building such facilities.

Your
responsibilities

• You will perform welding and pipe assembly work in the welding workshop and on sites throughout Belgium. You will work under the supervision of team leaders, site managers or workshop managers. You will travel to sites from the Ninove depot or the Intervention Centre in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw
• To gain the qualifications necessary to become a precision welder, you will receive training and support from senior welders in the welding workshop. You will get to grips with the various welding procedures (i.e. electrode, TIG and semi-automatic welding)
• You will initially carry out these procedures in the welding workshop. Once you have amassed the necessary experience, you will begin working under site conditions
• You will carry out prefab welding for assembly and installation activities in both the welding workshop and on site, under the supervision of team leaders, site managers or workshop managers

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• An A2 diploma in a technical field, preferably welding, or have equivalent experience
• Prior experience in welding with coated electrodes is essential. Experience with other welding processes (TIG and semi-automatic welding) and with assembly, pipe installation and plan-reading would be an advantage
• A keen sense of responsibility and a team player mindset. You are result- and safety-oriented in your work
• To be fluent in Dutch and have satisfactory knowledge of French

Additionally, this role requires:

• Willingness to eventually work on call and on standby
• Residence within a radius of 60 km of the Sint-Pieters-Leeuw Intervention Centre
• A category B drivers licence and have your own vehicle
