Within the Nonclinical Safety (NCS) department, part of Janssen Research & Development, a division of Janssen Pharmaceutica NV we are recruiting a Research Associate for the Biomarker & Clinical Pathology Laboratory which is part of Global Pathology within Nonclinical Safety.
The NCS department is responsible for the conduct of non-clinical safety studies during the development of new candidate drugs for various therapeutic areas. The Biomarker & Clinical Pathology Laboratory supports the non-clinical safety studies and is regularly involved in mechanistic experiments to investigate certain findings from the regular studies in more detail.
The results of these non-clinical safety studies enable the start of clinical research in healthy volunteers or patients. Because of this our department plays an important role in the drug development process.
For the Biomarker & Clinical Pathology Laboratory (location Beerse – Belgium) the following position is vacant:
Lab technician – Research Associate
In this function you will perform analyses of biological samples such as blood and urine originating from laboratory animals, in the fields of hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation and urinalysis. Other laboratory techniques used are ELISA, multiplex immunoassay, and flow cytometry. Calibration, control and maintenance of the instruments used is part of your activities.
In addition to the analytical activities, you will look after the practical preparation of the experiments, sample analysis, data analysis and critical review of the study results.
In the context of data integrity, you work precisely according to work instructions. You are aware of the applicable guidelines and work in compliance with these. Deviations from guidelines are being communicated and reported.
