In this position, a Resource Manager can expect to be responsible for the following:
  • Implement standards contained in Westinghouse "Codes of Business Ethics & Conduct." Ensure that all employees reporting to this position are informed about the standards and related policies, and enforce them within this supervised activity. Ensuring appropriate human resources are assigned to implement customer projects.
  • Managing and allocating global resources and materials to support the Business Units.
  • Providing technical support for product development, project implementation, marketing, and sales.
  • Providing adequately trained and qualified resources to implement programs & projects.
  • Oversight of personnel primarily based in Pittsburgh, PA but possibly also at other locations.
  • Assuring safety, health and regulatory compliance at Westinghouse sites.
  • Implementing personnel performance improvement and skills development process to assure Westinghouse competitiveness.
  • Assure a fair and competitive pay structure for all personnel.
  • Managing people development activities to ensure transfer and utilization of critical skills.
  • Identify and implement cost savings initiatives.
  • Developing appropriate training and qualification programs to support ongoing staff development, in conjunction with Customer Solutions Managers and other Resource Managers.
  • Developing and executing resource deployment plans.
  • Leadership of outage support and emergent activities requiring off-hours availability.
  • Developing both internal and external customer relationships.
  • Ensure the performance of work activities in accordance with established Westinghouse procedures
  • Implementation and integration of the Global Competency Model into all aspects of managing the personnel.
  • Oversee the development of process documentation useful to the organization.
  • Routine and frequent communication with all levels of management.
Who You Are

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline required.
  • Minimum 10 years of strong and progressively more responsible leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience managing engineering teams is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Component Engineering skills and products.
  • Experience with negotiations, persuasion, listening, and people development skills is essential.
  • Proven experience to engage customers to resolve emergent issues or promote group products and services.
  • Effective oral and written communication with internal and external customers and engineering groups.
  • Solid understanding of high technology products and systems.
  • Ability to gather and analyze input, evaluate alternatives, and make effective decisions.
  • Excellent team building skills with ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
