Job Summary:

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be part of the Global Technology Tech Ops Engineering team. Reporting to the GT TechOps Connectivity Manager, your role is integral to maintaining a stable IT infrastructure, driven by business requirements. You will share responsibility for infrastructure maintenance and lead projects within your area of expertise. Your tasks will include developing solutions, testing, and implementing them, as well as responding to escalated (L3) complex IT incidents and problems. You will define and execute short and long-term approaches for your assigned infrastructure, optimizing its management and applications for improved performance, stability, and availability. Continuity testing, development, testing, and implementation of monitoring tools and processes will also be part of your responsibilities. Collaborating closely with local and global technology teams is essential, as is staying updated on emerging technologies, building relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, and serving as an information resource for users and colleagues. You will also be responsible for writing and updating procedures, and should be able to work well under pressure and travel occasionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent by relevant experience.
  • Possess at least 5 years of relevant experience as a Senior Network Engineer.
  • Demonstrate a strong focus on achieving results and providing excellent service.
  • Be a team player with robust communication skills.
  • Employ a structured, project-driven, decisive, and conscientious approach to your work.
  • Knowledge of logistics is a valuable plus, as is experience in a multinational matrix environment.
  • Preferably, have a somewhat broader knowledge of clients, servers, and storage within the IT field.
  • Fluent in both English and Dutch.
  • Be willing to occasionally work on weekends if required.
  • Be prepared to work in an on-call regime for operational support outside regular working hours.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and Europe.
  • Engage in network infrastructure design, project coordination, and implementations.
  • Demonstrate professional technical knowledge in LAN, WAN, WLAN, Cisco, data cabling, TCP/IP, security, firewall, and VPN.
  • Possess familiarity with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
  • Experience in DevNetOps is a bonus, as is experience in SAFe Agile.
  • Hold certifications or equivalent knowledge in:CCNP Enterprise
