About The Role
As a Network & Security Engineer within the IT Infrastructure & Support Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our network and IT ecosystem. You will work closely with a team of System and Support Engineers. This role is responsible for managing multiple production plants operating 24/7. Additionally, you will actively contribute to the network security strategies and roadmap in collaboration with the IT Security Officer and help achieve the required business certifications.
Responsibilities
- Network Management & Security: Responsible for the configuration, management, and security of networks across multiple production plants using technologies such as Checkpoint Firewalls, Juniper and Cisco LAN, Aruba and Cisco WLAN.
- Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Apply analytical skills to diagnose and resolve network and security issues, determine root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Security Management: Manage network security, utilizing Microsoft Azure Information Protection and Advanced Threat Protection to identify and mitigate threats.
- Contribute to Strategy & Roadmap: Actively contribute to network security strategies and the security roadmap, working closely with the IT Security Officer to implement necessary measures for business certification.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with System Engineers, Support Engineers, and other departments to understand and address network and security needs.
- Documentation & Reporting: Ensure detailed documentation of network configurations, security settings, and resolved incidents, ensuring a reliable knowledge base.
- Proactive Monitoring & Improvements: Monitor network infrastructure proactively and improve network performance and security by implementing best practices and new technologies. Willing to take part in 24/7 support on call duties.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ICT, Network Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in network management and network security, including hands-on experience with Checkpoint Firewalls, Juniper and Cisco LAN, Aruba and Cisco WLAN, and Microsoft Azure Information Protection and Advanced Threat Protection.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting network and security issues and performing root cause analysis.
- Solid understanding of basic network and security topologies, with the ability to optimize and secure them effectively. With Focus on Routing, VPN and security certificates.
- System knowledge in the area of NPS,DHCP,DNS, VMWare, to support the handshake between systems and network/security in the best possible way.
- Customer-oriented approach, able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in proactively managing network infrastructure and implementing continuous improvement solutions.
- A team player with a hands-on mentality and the ability to think beyond your immediate discipline.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both in communication and technical documentation.
