Polyethylene Resin Expert

Job Summary:

The Polyethylene Resin Expert has the primary responsibility to create and implement PE resins and film technology from exploratory to commercial application. He/she creates design through experimental and pilot programs, selects and specifies raw materials, controls quality through design and process linkages to properties and manufacturing efficiencies, ensures legal and regulatory compliance, conducts extensive problem solving, roots cause analysis, and corrective action, and transitions technology form the lab environment to an economic commercial operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive and broaden PE resin technology development
  • Contribute to a project team
  • Report within R&D organization
  • Develop PE products

Report within R&D organizationDuties/Responsibilities:

  • Polymer Film Development and Design Engineer
  • Incorporate PE polymer technology into biaxial film making process
  • Design layer formulations for film function and application performance
  • Conduct experimental programs at the Pilot and Commercial scale
  • Translate customer functional requirements into product measures
  • Build prototype films for customer tests and internal evaluations
  • Meet Product Safety and Regulatory compliance requirements
  • Build and execute technical plans for product design, customer qualification, specifications, quality control, raw material development, and economic manufacture
  • Document results with technical reports and management stewardship
  • File patents
  • Travel to manufacturing sites and customer sites
  • Work safely and promote safety

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Full professional efficiency in English and intermediate level of French is mandatory

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ yrs experience minimum working with PE based polymers
  • B.Sc. Engineering minimum
  • M.Sc. or Phd Engineering preferred

The position is ideally located in Virton Jindal Innovation Center (Belgium).
