Power BI Contractor | Business Intelligence & Data Visualization

This is a long term assignment working on a hybrid basis in Braine l’Alleud.

We are searching for an experienced Power BI Contractor with a proven track record of delivering impactful dashboards, optimized data models, and actionable insights across Finance, Procurement, Project, and Asset Management domains. I specialize in translating complex business requirements into intuitive, scalable BI solutions that drive strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dashboard Development: Design and build interactive Power BI dashboards aligned with stakeholder specifications, ensuring clarity, usability, and performance.
  • Data Modeling: Create and optimize Power BI datasets, relationships, and measures to support accurate KPI calculations and scalable architecture.
  • Visualization Standards: Apply best practices in layout, usability, and performance tuning to ensure consistent and responsive dashboards.
  • Documentation & User Guidance: Produce concise documentation and navigation guides to support user adoption and knowledge transfer.
  • Requirements Translation: Convert business needs into structured functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to guide development.
  • Testing & Validation: Support test case creation, conduct SQL-based data checks, and participate in dashboard walkthroughs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Facilitate collaboration with business users and sponsors to clarify objectives, refine evolving requirements, and secure formal sign-off for development readiness.
  • Delivery Tracking & JIRA Coordination: Maintain and update JIRA tickets with structured requirements, coordinate with development teams to track progress and testing, and ensure transparency and timely risk identification throughout execution.

Core Skills:

  • Power BI Desktop (dashboard development, data modeling, KPI design)
  • SQL for data validation and integrity checks
  • JIRA (basic proficiency)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative
  • Full professional proficiency in English

Preferred Experience:

  • Working within institutional or public sector environments with formal governance structures
  • Familiarity with BI project lifecycles and Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience in international, military-civilian environments
  • Understanding of NATO structures (ACO, ACT) and responsibilities
