YOUR contribution
Context


Within the Short-term Power as-a-Service (SPaaS) platform of GEMs, as a VIE, you will take part of the operational activities and will contribute to a range of projects supporting the evolution of the desk.



Role
  • Operational activities
  • Market access : execute bidding strategies on European Day-Ahead Spot Exchanges (BE-DE-FR-GE-CH-AT-CZ-HU)
  • Ensure a transparent logging of all transactions in the deal capture systems (pre-trade & post trade).
  • Ensuring the balance of positions and relevant nominations towards TSOs (energy/capacity) for the different legal entities of the Group active on European Power markets.
  • Respect the contractual, regulatory and compliance frameworks at all times in order to avoid any penalties.
  • Ensure the operational follow-up of her/his results : daily reports, incidents follow-up with the objective to continuously improve the processes.
  • Projects :

In the context of power market evolution (increase of renewable production, nuclear phase out, ..) power scheduling activities have to evolve to tackle efficiently the market changes :

  • You contribute in offering access to scheduling services to a large range of internal and external customers
  • You accompany the activities automation where relevant and make proposal to monitor thoroughly the automated tasks.
  • You propose and build alternatives by simplifying/digitalizing processes and tools where relevant.
  • You co-develop with dedicated IT teams according the coding standards in place,

About YOU
Hard skills
  • Fluent in English. Additional languages (French, Dutch, German) are of value;
  • Proficiency in Python.

Soft skills
  • A structured and analytical personality with a hands-on attitude.
  • Stress resilient : continue to operate efficiently in difficult or unfamiliar situations, when faced by pressure or time.
  • Accuracy : Works carefully and accurately, checks the work and guarantees a predefined level of the final quality.

Education and professional background
  • Master degree in quantitative discipline (eg energy, economics, science, mathematics,..)
