PR Brand Manager

To maintain and strengthen the strong position and awareness of our brands, we are looking for a PR Brand Manager for the Consumer Products Division for the Belgian market.

As PR Brand Manager, you will be responsible for the overall PR strategy, budgets and the implementation thereof in Belgium, developed with the Benelux marketing team. For example, you will need to think about how to generate as much PR value as possible for launches and brands, determine and organise PR events (and ensure that guests create content about them), PR releases to (beauty) media and develop and send out PR boxes. In doing so, you will always need to keep in mind how you can generate the most free publicity.

In this role, you will work for the Consumer Product Benelux organisation, and will be based in Brussels. In this role, you will report to the Marketing Director Benelux. You will frequently work together with the PR Brand Manager Netherlands, the Product Brand Managers of the relevant categories and brands and the Brand Activation Manager who, among other things, is involved in setting up brand campaigns, of which PR is regularly part of. A large number of these marketing roles are carried out from Hoofddorp (near Amsterdam). These marketers regularly work from Brussels and the PR Brand Manager will work from Hoofddorp for two days once or twice a month.

You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Setting up corporate events/initiatives.
  • PR boxes + press kits (± 30 per year): creating, briefing creative designers and printers, managing and determining for whom the launch is relevant.
  • Maintaining daily contact with beauty journalists for enquiries and publications.
  • Daily requests for product sponsorship, event sponsorship and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Creating press documents so journalists can find out all about new launches, events and the like.
  • Taking care of the layout, writing and translation of online press releases. Subsequently, you will send them to the relevant contacts.
  • Performing "Earned Media Value" analyses (based on KPIs) after events/PR Seeding.
  • Attending events of important contacts for relationship management and gaining new knowledge.
  • Supporting major brand campaigns from a PR perspective.

The following qualities and qualifications are required for this position:

  • A completed academic Master’s degree
  • At least 5 years of PR/communication experience
  • Good spoken and written command of French or Dutch
  • Affinity with PR, social media, influencers and brand communication
  • A real networker, you are good at building relationships both internally and externally
  • A flexible mindset that suits the fast-paced Beauty FMCG business
  • Out-of-the-box thinking, with a good dose of creativity
  • You are organised, pro-active and can switch quickly between tasks, brands, categories and stakeholders. You know how to tackle things and you always get the job done.
  • Communicative skills that foster trust with many different stakeholders
  • Analytical skills (in the sense that you must be able to calculate Earned Media Values from an event/press mission, interpret the results and draw conclusions from this)

What do we offer?

When you start at L’Oréal, you are given a high level of personal responsibility from day one. To assist your development, we offer an induction programme and an individual training programme. Training can take place either locally or at the global headquarters in Paris. An enriching experience during which you will meet international peers.

Moreover, with us you will find:
