Process Engineer - Development engineer large-area nanostructured electrodes for H2-gas generation and CO2 reductionInitial 6 month contract + extensionsLeuven, BelgiumAs a Process engineer you are responsible for plating, anodization and etching process development on large area substrates (200-300 mm wafers). The consultant needs to work in a lab environment (no production or pilot line) together with researchers and hardware engineers to establish stable and scalable processes of novel nano-structured electrodes for H2-gas generation and CO2 reduction. The assignment
  • Contribute hands-on to the development of electrochemical deposition, anodization and etching processes on larger substrates such as 200-300 mm Si wafers.
  • Together with the researchers establish stable and scalable plating, anodization and etching processes by applying suitable characterization or monitoring techniques (eg SEM, titrations, XRF, AFM, SPC, etc.)
  • Responsible to keep - together with the hardware engineer and researcher - the plating, anodization and etching equipment in an operational state and monitor its operations with statical process control
  • Periodic reporting to the team members and technical management, and if needed to external partners
Required Knowledge And Skills
  • Experience with electrochemical deposition or anodization of larger substrates (eg 200-300 mm Si wafers).
  • Team player with good English communication skills.
  • Know-how on statistical process control for electrochemical process tanks (40-90 L) is a plus.
  • Know-how on physiochemical and electrochemical characterization techniques is a plus.
