Context & PurposeHigh voltage accessories production, testing and R&D activities in Erembodegem are a key link enabling the delivery of complete solutions for our customers within G&T. This ‘HV’ part of the operations & organization in Erembodegem has been carved out to belong to, and led by, the G&T organization in close collaboration with the Plant Manager and local team.The high voltage department is in charge of the production of high voltage accessories for turnkeye projects embed in the full electrification strategy of the group. In this framework, the need of high premoulded joint become paramount with the development if 525 kV HVDC interconnections and windfarm projects.In this project, we are looking for a Deputy Operations Engineer in order to develop and industrialize the new generation of accessories. He/she will be in charge of the development, the procurement and realization of the accessories and the overall improvement of the production process. As this project is key for Nexans, various interactions with all Nexans stakeholder will be take place.Areas of responsibility
  • Develop the overall production strategy and needs for upcoming projects
  • Lead the implementation of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Review and improve flow of material and production components
  • Investigate automated solutions for process improvement
  • Organise the start-up of new tools (-mats; -machines).
  • Drawing up production documentation (SOP, instructions, etc.).
  • Provide introduction training on new tools, coach/maintain machines.
  • Develop standardization among the departments (5S, first line maintenance, …)
  • Ensures HS&E systems & procedures are followed and respected by the team with proactive measures being taken where necessary
  • Follows Group rules and procedure, and health, safety & environment rules and procedures

Required Skills And Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience in production or process
  • Fluent in English and French, Dutch (local language) is an added-value.
  • Deployment and monitoring of key indicators
  • Ability to follow budget and planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to empowered people on new processes
