The Product Flow Manager is a global role across the entire vaccines network with multiple stakeholders in GVSC (E2E planners, Central Planners, CS, VDCC) and in GIO (production sites, QC, QA,). The main purpose of the role is to guarantee final container availability across the full pack network. This role will oversee all pack sites and ensures all options cross-site are being investigated to ensure the best value to patients. The product flow manager role sets the pace for continuous improvement in this area covering governance efficiency, process improvements, tool creation and implementation. The Product Flow Manager ensures clearly defined WoW are established for the Product Flow Specialist.

The Key elements of a Product Flow Manager:

  • The Product Flow Manager ensures that the full pack network has sufficient final containers (FC) available in the correct volume and quality status at the right time so pack sites can deliver their production plan. The Product flow manager is covering all physical transfers of FC between filling and pack sites. Factories covering both filling and pack activities on the same site continue to ensure with their internal resources the feasibility of the packaging plan.
  • Thanks to a deep process and product knowledge, in planning, manufacturing and release processes (QC, QA, eCC etc.), the Product flow manager is responsible for anticipating, managing, and solving major issues which might have an impact on the future packaging plans. When required, he/she needs to escalate effectively the non-solved issues or major issues impacting supply to the Weekly Supply Meeting.
  • The Product flow manager ensures that robust processes and governances are installed to secure internal communication regarding issues and priorities management to QC, MPU/sites and to pack sites. This prioritisation needs to be ensured in alignment with the CS execution team.
  • The Product flow managers ensure that the FC allocated to pack is the best choice from a supply point of view by verifying that previous production steps can be released in line with supply timelines and if not, they remain the best possible choice

  • Drive product flow release follow up with various stakeholders to ensure FC availability for packaging plans.
  • Ensure correct prioritisation in the distribution area considering pack site requirements and customer needs.
  • Ensure final container availability to allow optimal use of the pack capacity
  • Identify bottlenecks or execution hiccups and take relevant actions to solve them
  • Analyse/Manage/Communicate effectively supply impact of short-term issues and offer solutions to solve them.
  • Submit and drive continuous improvements ideas leading to processes simplification
  • Improve and approve procedure updates related to process improvements & business requirements
  • Coach & control implementation of formalized processes and governances
  • Understand the release process (QC / QA) to be able to ensure follow-up of FC availability for pack sites
  • Ensure CTS and Plan Stability performance indicator follow-up for filling and pack sites

  • Working experience (at least 5 years)
