Our modern production site in Veurne has a capacity of about 2,5 million packets a day. Main Purpose Of The Role

To provide leadership, direction and drive performance excellence across your whole production area to deliver a balanced scorecard comprising Safety, People, Service, Quality & Cost. The manager has full responsibility for one of the production areas (Snacks/Chips). He / she leads the people and team development, ensuring goods and services are produced in line with cost, quality and customer service requirements.

Accountabilities

 Support definition and execute the Veurne AOP plan for chips/snacks department, identifying above plan opportunities to deliver financial gains:
  • Manage the daily/weekly aspects of the production line performance;
  • Continuous follow-up and communication with the internal supporting departments: quality, engineering, maintenance, etc.;
  • Create the right structure and systems to deliver excellence – eliminating constraints.
 Jobholder has a helicopter view and is responsible to increase productivity continuously of the chips/snacks lines through:
  • Monitoring and leading changes, sponsor action plans, initiate capex;
  • Infrastructure enhancements/upgrades growth to ensure internal competiveness.
 Champion Snacks/Chips Quality Strategy on the floor; year-on-year improvement on all core KPIs – make Quality everybody’s job every day. Ensure the implementation of the HACCP & GMP agenda within the plant.

 Ensure a safe working environment for all employees, achieving above industry norms performance via compliance to GEHSMS and legislative requirements. Lead the development of the safety culture on site through risk centred activity owned by the front line employees.

 Own food safety strategy on the floor – lead by example, drive to excellence on all areas

 Monitoring/guarding energy consumption and pass along/expand knowledge to/of FLMs/FLEs about efficient energy consumption (discuss in teammeetings about energy and environmental topics).

 Consult KPI scorecard energy on the production lines.

 Accountable for the relevant energy related actions required to comply to the ISO 50001 management system and to contribute to the Recon (Resource Conservation) program.

 Execute people strategy to drive positive employee regard, strong front line capability and a KPI/continuous improvement culture. Demonstrate personal leadership on the people agenda through delivery of inspiring employee communication and building strong involvement mechanisms.

 Deliver KPI’s Recon on target. Analyze and discuss KPI’s with team.

 Champion Starfleet on the floor – make it how we work.

 Provide strong leadership and coaching for direct reports.

 The role model and enforcer of corporate standards, behaviours and values for our all site employees.

Key Skills/Experience Required

Qualifications/Requirements

 At Least 5 years of experience within operations and / our FMCG environment

 Lean Six Sigma skills are a strong plus

 Clearly demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate, empower and coach a large team consisting of managers, staff and frontline colleagues.

 Clear communicator, able to deliver complex messages in a simple manner.

 Influencing and relationship building skills across Operations peers, seniors and the site leadership team.

 Flexible approach, a keen eye for detail and the ability to make good, balanced business decisions to meet future business and customer requirements.

 Is seen as role model, inspiring trust in those around them whilst promoting an environment of achievement and recognition.

 Demonstrated drive for results and a can do attitude. Leverages a keen understanding of key business
