We are looking for a Project Controls Specialist to join our team dedicated to a very large construction project in Belgium (Mons area). In this role, you will act as client representative on a large and complex construction program where we are providing the full suite of professional services including technical project management, cost- & planning management and construction management.
Role description:
- Provide support to the Project Controls Lead (PCL) and project team throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support production of project level reports for PCL including detailed analysis of project cost and changes.
- Maintain and control budget from design concept through to project completion.
- Change management and control for total project cost (GC’s, direct suppliers and professional appointments).
- Analyze projects to ensure that project funding is adequate by performing estimates, cost forecasts, cost trends, and accrual of actual costs.
- Performs cost estimates for civil, structural, architectural, plumbing, HVAC and electrical disciplines.
- Prepare material, labour, and equipment cost estimates for concept designs, design development documents, bid documents, and change orders.
- Work with client project management team to agree GMPs.
- Estimate and negotiate potential change orders.
- Cost validation and quantity surveying on an as needed basis.
- Monitoring and audit compliance.
- Coordinate with project manager staff to establish initial budgets, develop cost estimates working with suppliers and other sources, and perform monthly Estimate at Completions on projects.
- Reconcile program and project controls data with the client’s fiscal and financial controls systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying).
- Understanding of construction means and methodology.
- In depth technical knowledge of specialized field, including construction processes and cost & commercial management.
- Experience of leading smaller projects and supporting on larger more complex projects.
- Experience working closely with external stakeholders to build client relationships.
